Currently, the wearing of facemasks is strongly suggested but optional in Overton County Schools. A mask mandate would be one of the last measures the district would take in order to keep schools open. Until the board changes procedure, Overton County Schools will continue to strongly suggest students wear a face covering while at school.
All students riding the bus to and from school are required to wear a mask on the bus. If students do not have a mask – one will be provided for them. Students will be checked for temperature each day when they arrive at school. A seating chart will be made for each bus route. Students will be required to ride in the same seat each day to and from school. Any student who is running a fever of 100.4 or above will be required to go home.
