Mission Statement

Overton County has an excellent school system that strives to meet the individual needs of all students. Local, state, and national goals are a major focus of the day-to-day operation of the system. The mission of Overton County  Schools (Board of Education, Director of Schools, administrators, and teachers) in  partnership with the citizens of Overton County, is to produce young men and women who will leave our system with the ability to think clearly, use good judgment in all areas of life, be competent in basic skills, be prepared to learn throughout the rest of their lives, and who possess the ability to do well in whatever endeavor they may choose.

Summer food program

Lunches for any Child 18 Years or Younger

Emergency Feeding for schools ends on June 30th. Meals can be picked up at Livingston Academy. If you need meals, please call Livingston Academy at 931-823-5911.

LA Students Prepare Lunch for OCS Maintenance Staff

The Nutrition Science and Diet Therapy students at Livingston Academy prepared lunch for the Overton County Maintenance staff to show their appreciation for their hard work in remodeling our kitchen lab space. The menu were pinto beans, cornbread, onion, relish, sweet tea, and lemon bars. Students standing left to right are Haskell Cunningham, Madison Tidwell, Leila White, Hannah Wilson, and Sarah Waits. Maintenance men seated are Edward Walker, Danny England, Jeff Hammock and Terry Smith.
Fruit Pizza

Human Studies Class at LA Makes Fruit Pizza

Students in the Intro to Human Studies class created fruit pizzas. This was an enjoyable 2-day lab in which students learned the importance of reading a recipe, following instructions, use of basic math and reading skills, along with teamwork. They did an excellent job!

Amelia Scarlett Earns Dual Credit

We would like to acknowledge and congratulate Amelia Scarlett for passing the Medical Terminology dual credit exam with Vol State. We are extremely proud of her. Congratulating Amelia is health science teacher, Aleshia Reeder.
