Mission Statement

Overton County has an excellent school system that strives to meet the individual needs of all students. Local, state, and national goals are a major focus of the day-to-day operation of the system. The mission of Overton County  Schools (Board of Education, Director of Schools, administrators, and teachers) in  partnership with the citizens of Overton County, is to produce young men and women who will leave our system with the ability to think clearly, use good judgment in all areas of life, be competent in basic skills, be prepared to learn throughout the rest of their lives, and who possess the ability to do well in whatever endeavor they may choose.

Coding Students Earn Rewarding Recognition

Livingston Academy's Computer Science Foundations class recently submitted a small coding project for the STEMscopes Coding Competition. Mrs. Lora Clouse hosted the virtual event using the national platform as a way to teach students other ways to utilize coding in real-life. The students created and coded a greeting card, which was then submitted and judged. Six student winners were announced May 3, 2021 and two of those students were from Livingston Academy. Livingston Academy Students Earn Statewide Dual Credit

Livingston Academy teachers and students earn recognition for TN statewide dual credit. Teachers that help to prepare the following students for this college-level course and online challenge exam include Mr. Kennard, Ms. Crisp, and Mr. Parker. We congratulate this group for a job well done.
