District Staff Welcoming Teachers at PD day

Overton County Schools launched the 2026–27 school year with a vibrant and uplifting County‑Wide Professional Development Day on August 4, where the energy among teachers was evident from the very start. Staff filled the morning with breakfast provided by One Bank, photos, and conversations that set a warm, enthusiastic tone for the year ahead.LA staff

The day featured a full slate of sessions—ranging from legislative updates and safety training to AI usage, data, budgeting, retirement planning, and grade‑level collaboration. Breakout rooms buzzed with discussion as educators shared ideas, strengthened processes, and prepared for the work ahead.

RES Staff

Teachers enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by Union Bank and snacks courtesy of First National Bank, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Community partners also contributed door prizes, which brought excitement and fun to the midday program.

OCS Staff

Director of Schools Kim Dillon delivered the keynote address, offering a heartfelt message about the teachers who shaped her life. She emphasized how care, consistency, and a safe environment made a lasting impact on her as a student, encouraging teachers to remember that their relationships with students remain the most meaningful part of their work.
