Rising 3rd graders brought science and creativity together today during summer school with a fun paper boat challenge! Using simple materials, students designed and folded their own boats, then tested them on the water to see how many “passengers” each could safely carry. There was lots of excitement as predictions were made, experiments were conducted, and a few boats met a soggy fate along the way. Through hands-on learning, students explored important concepts like buoyancy, balance, and problem-solving.
The room was filled with cheers and laughter as each group tried to beat the others’ results, making adjustments to improve their designs. It was a wonderful blend of teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity in action. We love seeing our students learning by doing—and having so much fun along the way! 🚤🌊
