Today, we celebrate the opening of the Hogeye Market at Livingston Academy!
The Hogeye Market is a school-based enterprise operated by students in our Comprehensive Development Classroom (CDC) and led by special education teachers April Stover and Karla Crabtree. This program provides students with meaningful, hands-on, real-world work experience that builds vocational skills, confidence, responsibility, and independence as they prepare for life after graduation. The market offers a variety of items including cups, jewelry, clothing, gifts, and more.

This project would not have been possible without the support of so many individuals and organizations. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Leslie Riddle for her continued encouragement and support of this endeavor. We are incredibly grateful for our PAES Lab team and our dedicated aide, Deloris Carr, whose daily commitment plays a vital role in our students’ success.

We also wish to thank our CDC family, the special education teachers at Livingston Academy, our administration, and the many wonderful teachers and parents who have supported, encouraged, and believed in our students every step of the way.
A special thank you goes to our amazing donors, including Food Lion, Midstate Construction, Christ Chapel United Methodist Church, and many others whose generosity helped make the Hogeye Market a reality. Your support has created meaningful opportunities that will have a lasting impact on our students.

This ribbon cutting represents more than the opening of a market — it celebrates collaboration, inclusion, a community coming together to support students.
