Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting was a special one as we celebrated outstanding leadership and service across our district.

We were proud to recognize Nate Kennard and Wendy for their incredible work in establishing and supporting the AP Academy at Livingston Academy. Their dedication to expanding advanced academic opportunities for our students is making a lasting impact. Because of their vision, organization, and commitment, more students have access to rigorous coursework that prepares them for college and future success. We are grateful for the leadership they provide and the doors they continue to open for our students.

We also took time to honor our Overton County Schools Board of Education during School Board Appreciation Month. Our board members dedicate countless hours to thoughtful decision-making, long-term planning, and supporting the work happening in our classrooms every day. Several have served our district for over a decade — a true testament to their commitment to public education and to our community.
The name plaques presented this evening were created by instructor Mike Johnson with the assistance of his FFA students at Livingston Academy. We love showcasing the talent and craftsmanship of our students while recognizing the leaders who help make these opportunities possible.
Thank you to Nate, Wendy, and our Board of Education for your leadership, service, and heart for Overton County Schools. 💙
