the local EMS team has notified the district early this morning concerning the bad weather coming through tonight and the potential for flooding. With some districts closing today, we have received permission form the state to have virtual day tomorrow IF needed. Teachers have sent home assignments this afternoon just in case.

AES Kindergarten Pre-Registration for the upcoming 25-26 school year is set for Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 8 am - 2:30 pm. Please call the school to make an appointment and see the graphic for a list of items you will need to bring with you to the appointment. Please bring your child with you to the appointment.

Voluntary Pre-K program Kick off night - Thursday March 13 from 4:30-6:00 P.M/
Enrollment will be held at the school of your choice (AH Roberts, Allons, Hilham, Rickman, and Wilson). VPK is serves 3 and 4 year old children. Must be 3 or 4 by August 15th. Please see our website for more information. (Programs -> Voluntary Pre-K) or call the district office at 823-1287.
AES will celebrate Read Across America Week March 3-7 with some fun themed dress up days! Everyone who would like to participate is welcome to join in for the dress up fun!
Our spring Parent Teacher Conference will be held on Tuesday, March 4 from 3:00-5:00 pm.
Due to the ongoing icy weather conditions, Overton County Schools requested an additional virtual day from the state. This has been approved, and Overton County Schools will be virtual for Friday February 21, 2025

We will have our 8th Grade Night to recognize the 8th grade basketball and cheer students on Thursday, February 13th at 6pm. This will be followed by bantam and varsity games against parents.

This morning at 7:40 AM, a concerned parent notified us of a potential magazine containing ammunition which had fallen out of a vehicle. This was subsequently picked up by a child.
Out of an abundance of caution, we went in to a soft lockdown. Upon investigating, we determined the object of concern was actually a medical device owned by a medical professional. The device’s batteries fell out when the device dropped the vehicle.
We thank the concerned individuals for being aware and providing the information. Always be safety conscious!
There is/was no threat at AES this morning! Have a wonderful day!
PTO will begin collecting money for Snow Glow Dance Tickets and Glow Bags this week from 7-7:30 am in the gym. Tickets are $5 and Glow Bags are $10.
Please write your child’s name, grade, and classroom on an envelope or on the flyer that went home today and include if they are purchasing only a ticket for $5 or if both ticket and glow bag are being purchased for $15.
The dance is this Friday, January 31st and concessions will be sold. Students who purchase a glow bag of accessories will not receive those until Friday morning when they get to their homerooms.
